How Similar LLC collects, uses, shares, and protects personal data for HelloPlayer2.

Last updated: October 18, 2026

Similar LLC ("we," "us") operates HelloPlayer2. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you talk and play with your companion, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights.

1. Information we collect

Account information. Your name if you give it, your email address, your sign-in method (Google, Apple, or an emailed link), and your account preferences.

Conversation and play data. What you say to your companion, by voice or by typing; what your companion says back; the games and activities you do together and how they go; and your ratings, notes, and written feedback. When you talk out loud, your speech is converted to text and the text becomes part of your conversation history. We process this data to run the service, to give your companion a memory of you, to evaluate and improve the product, to train the AI models behind it, and to enforce safety rules.

Photos you choose to share. If you show your companion a photo during a conversation, the image is processed automatically: it is screened for safety and reduced to a brief text impression your companion can respond to, and the image itself is then discarded. The image is not stored, is not displayed to anyone, is not shared, and is not used to train models. Share only photos of yourself or of adults who have agreed to it.

Technical and usage data. Device and browser information, IP address, log data, and cookies or similar technologies used for sign-in, security, and keeping the service working.

Advertising measurement. If you arrive from an ad, we record which ad campaign brought you and the ad's click identifier. We tell that ad network (today, Google) when you sign up, when you first talk with your companion, and when you come back on a later day, sending only the click identifier and the time of each step, so it can tell which ads bring new members. This is on unless you turn it off on Your Privacy Choices. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we record nothing for that browser, and its earlier ad click records are deleted the next time it visits helloplayer2.com.

Website analytics and ad tags. Our public pages load Google Tag Manager, which runs Google Analytics and Google's advertising tags to understand visits, measure which ads work, and show our ads to people who have visited before. They may set cookies and receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details, and the public pages you visit. They are not used on sign-in pages or inside the companion app, and we do not send them your conversations or your account details. They load unless you turn them off on Your Privacy Choices or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.

2. How we use your information

We use personal data to provide and operate the service; to give your companion a working memory of you; to run safety, moderation, and content-filtering systems; to evaluate, improve, and train our AI models and product using conversation and feedback data; to detect and prevent fraud and abuse; to measure which of our ads bring new members; to provide support; to comply with legal obligations, including mandatory reporting of child sexual abuse material; and, where permitted, to communicate with you about your account.

Free beta. While the beta runs, free access is offered in exchange for research participation: we record your conversations, game sessions, ratings, and written feedback and use them to evaluate, improve, and train the product, including training AI models. Joining the beta requires accepting this use.

3. One account across Similar LLC services

Your HelloPlayer2 sign-in is a Similar LLC account. Similar LLC operates other companion services. If you sign in to another Similar LLC companion service with the same Google, Apple, or email sign-in, it is the same account: your companion, your conversation history, and your account settings are shared between the services, and each service shows you only what is appropriate for it. We do not create a separate account for you, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

4. Additional information for EEA and UK users

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, Similar LLC is the controller of personal data processed for HelloPlayer2. We process data to perform our contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, for our legitimate interests in security, moderation, fraud prevention, and service improvement (including evaluation and training of our AI models), and, where required, on the basis of your consent, including the research-participation consent you give when joining the beta. You may contact info@similar.llc to exercise your rights, and you may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

5. How we share information

We share personal data only as needed with:

  • AI, speech, and voice providers that generate your companion's words and voice and convert your speech to text, under contractual confidentiality and data-protection terms;
  • service providers for hosting, email delivery, fraud prevention, customer support, and related operations, under data-processing agreements;
  • advertising networks (today, Google), for advertising measurement and for showing our ads to people who have visited, as described above, unless you turn it off;
  • analytics providers (today, Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager), for website analytics on our public pages as described above, unless you turn it off;
  • authorities when required by law, including mandatory reporting of child sexual abuse material, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.

We do not sell your personal data. Telling an ad network which of its ads brought you, or letting it show our ads to people who have visited, may count as "sharing" under some U.S. state laws; you can turn both off on Your Privacy Choices.

6. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Conversation and account data are retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, safety, support, and fraud-prevention purposes. Photos you share are discarded immediately after screening; only the text impression and a screening result are kept. Ad click identifiers are deleted 90 days after the click. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.

7. Security

We use technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring, to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond appropriately to any incident.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise a right, contact info@similar.llc. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by law.

9. Children

HelloPlayer2 is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn we have, we will delete it and close the account. Who can use HelloPlayer2 is set out in our Terms of Service.

10. International transfers

If we transfer data across borders, we use safeguards required by law, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect it.

11. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in, security, preferences, analytics, and advertising measurement. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.

Analytics and advertising measurement are on unless you turn them off through Your Privacy Choices. We honor Global Privacy Control by keeping them off. Your choice applies to this browser and lasts one year; clearing cookies or switching browsers may require a new choice. Turning them off does not undo data already sent. These controls do not affect signing in or using your companion.
